April 25th,2016, was another day that changed my life. This wasn’t a physical change, as in I was injured, NO, this was a change to my whole being. I began to hold in my hand, what I was seeing in my dreams and seeing in the big picture of what I wanted out of life.
My vision was becoming more and more clear every time that I thought of starting a Nonprofit. Every move that I made I felt closer to the end goal. I knew deep down that this was exactly what I am suppose to be doing.
Two weeks had gone by. I had my racecourse submitted to the city along with all of the documents that they needed. Event liability insurance was established and SMILE #UWokeUp had it’s own EIN number. SMILE #UWokeUp 501(C)(3) application was started. I had met with an Executive Director of a Nonprofit in Colorado to walk me through the application and to clarify with me what questions I needed to ask the Tax Advisor. I had a brochure promoting my support groups. I setup support group meetings for TBI survivors, friends, families, and whomever else is needing extra support; throughout the rest of the year. In two local Northern Colorado hospitals. Two websites were in motion and one was almost completed. A race committee was built. A board of directors was pretty much in place. A partnership with another Nonprofit was established to be able to put on a race in October. I had been consulting with three other local Nonprofit’s CEO, that were friends of a friend. Things were moving quickly in the Nonprofit world, but in Molly’s world I believed that it could move faster.
