About SMILE #UWokeUp
SMILE #UWokeUp is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness about Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) and providing vital support, resources, and insights for survivors, caregivers, and the wider community. Our mission is to empower individuals affected by TBI to discover their strengths, overcome obstacles, and lead fulfilling lives.
Our Vision
At SMILE #UWokeUp, we envision communities where TBI survivors, along with their families, caregivers, and supporters, have access to the knowledge, tools, and encouragement needed to thrive. Through education, support, and prevention efforts, we strive to create a world where TBI is understood, prevented whenever possible, and managed effectively when it occurs.
Our Approach
We believe in the power of knowledge and support to facilitate healing and growth. Whether you’re a survivor seeking inspiration, a caregiver in need of guidance, or a community member looking to learn more, SMILE #UWokeUp is here for you.
Our Motto: “See it. Believe it. Achieve it.”
At SMILE #UWokeUp, we embrace the belief that anything is possible with determination and perseverance. Our motto serves as a reminder to envision our goals, have faith in our abilities, and take action to make our dreams a reality. No obstacle is too great to overcome when we approach life with a positive attitude and a smile on our faces.
Meet Our Founder: Molly Cain
Molly Cain, the driving force behind SMILE #UWokeUp, knows firsthand the challenges of living with a TBI. Following a life-altering accident in 2012, Molly faced adversity with resilience and determination. From overcoming a coma to pushing through temporary paralysis, Molly’s journey is a testament to the power of the human spirit. Today, she inspires others to embrace life’s challenges with a smile and to find strength through movement, particularly through endurance races.
