Do you ever feel stuck; like you just cannot make it to your end goal or destination? Breathe, this baton was only handed to you because you are strong enough to handle whatever ‘said’ thing you are facing. I (Molly Cain) want to share a personal story with you in hope that you are able to see your circumstance in a different light and setting; inspiring your journey.
Before you dive in, let me ask you. How aware are you? Would you notice a shift in your perception?
TBI light; mixed with endurance training —> For me, this is where it all began. A second leap of faith into the complete unknown. Just me and a path in sight with no dictated end. As humans, I believe that we are always on a spiritual journey. The deciding part is if we are open to this idea or not. Many are not, which is okay, but those who are will never stop fueling their soul with an open road ahead. For me, this open road has been filled with many ideas, thoughts and opinions, ups and downs and highs and lows; all of which have lead me here.
Over the past month, I have really honed into my training. I set out to accomplish large endurance goals and I knew that there was only one way to succeed. Simply by doing it and committing. This is not just committing to the bare minimum. This is going all in or nothing at all. This is making minor shifts to your mental clarity to raise the bar even more. This is becoming so in tune with you, and all of you, raising your awareness level to help you move forward. In the last 25 days, I have raised my standards to really holding myself accountable. Not just in training and running, but my overall balanced lifestyle. Ensuring that I am as balanced and prepared as I can be – putting Molly first. I’ve switched my eating habits to only eating clean (hiding the processed food to the best of my ability.) I’ve stayed away from meat and I’ve become more aware on how to quiet the mind. A lesson and tool was reinforced: if it is important to you, you will figure out a way to make it work.
My health is number 1, as everyone health should be. However, we do not always put ourselves first because of this or that or what I like to call excuses. YOU are important and you need to remember that your personal priorities come first, no matter the fashion. I like anyone live a busy lifestyle but the commitment part always plays a role with our decision and choices…I entered a lottery for a 50K and I was selected. I have had three months to train, while traveling for my corporate job, running a nonprofit, moving, ect. Am I ready; I don’t know. What I do know is that this is the best that I have physically and mentally fent since the accident. My mental clarity has increased substantially. I am in awe and excited to see what the next few months have in store. Who knew changing our brains could change our life – Daniel D. Amen did.
Stay tuned,Superior Spring 50K Trail Run is May 19.
“In my opinion, being present is the centerpiece for the ‘said encounter that we are facing. This is also in the eyes of the beholder.”
