Shucks, this summer is flying by, and we are spreading the word about traumatic brain injuries and hoping to encourage other survivors to take their first step through endurance racing—this time, with Mt. Evans Accent, a 15.5-mile run up to the top.
Tomorrow, Molly Cain will run another race, Mt. Evans Accent, put on by @RacingUnderground, where she will most likely dig deep as this will be her first time above 14,000 feet in over a year – or anything close to this. “Every step I take is for my TBI family and those who do not have this opportunity.” at 6:30 am, Molly will run Mt. Evans Accent, a 15.5-mile run up to the top.
If you are a TBI/BI survivor, do not forget about our FREE shoes program to help you continue taking the first step. @smileuwokeup has partnered with @runnersroostfc to help survivors find a stable pair of walking/running shoes to assist with gait, balance, and mobility on their road to recovery and healing: For any questions, email smileuwokeup@gmail.com.
SMILE #UWokeUp holds support group meetings for TBI survivors, families, caregivers, friends, and anyone who wants to learn more about TBI/BI and what it entails. Summer is here, which means our meetings will be held on the last Tuesday of the month at Fossil Creek Park: Address: 5821 S Lemay Ave, Fort Collins, CO 80525.
